PRESERVING RESOURCES TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT

The innovation of Styropor® Ccycled® lies in replacing fossil-based raw materials with pyrolysis oil, obtained through the chemical recycling of mixed plastic waste. Through BASF’s certified Mass Balance approach, this waste is reintegrated into the production cycle, reducing the carbon footprint (PCF) by 90% compared to the traditional version. Despite this ecological shift, the material maintains all fundamental requirements in terms of thermal insulation and food-contact safety. The entire process is certified by international standards such as REDCERT2 and ISCC PLUS, offering a solution that drastically reduces CO2 emissions.
